THIS LISTING IS FOR A FABULOUS GEORGIAN ENGLISH STERLING SILVER VINAIGRETTE, c. 1807.
THIS LOVELY VINAIGRETTE FEATURES A LARGE CENTER CARTOUCHE FOR MONOGRAM (UNUSED) AND INTRICATE ENGRAVED BORDER WITH A SCALLOPED GARLAND DESIGN. BEAUTIFUL GILT INTERIOR WITH PIERCED HINGED INTERIOR PLATE WITH INTRICATE RETICULATED DESIGN. ELEGANT ENGRAVED DESIGN ON REVERSE WITH COORDINATING DESIGN MARKED WITH ENGLISH HALLMARKS FOR BIRMINGHAM, STERLING, DATE LETTER FOR 1807 AND MAKER'S STAMP FOR JOHN SHAW IS BUSINESS FROM 1803-1825.
MEASURES 1/4" HIGH, 1 1/16" LONG AND 5/8" WIDE.  WEIGHS 10 GRAMS.
THE PIECE IS IN EXCELLENT ESTATE CONDITION WITH NO NOTED FLAWS. THE HINGE IS TIGHT AND THE BOX OPENS AND CLOSES CORRECTLY.
