Description
Here a pretty vintage candy box which was made by the Hocking Glass Company (later becoming Anchor-Hocking). The pattern name for this "Queen Mary", though collectors sometimes refer to it as 'Vertical Ribbed'. It was introduced in 1936 and continued in production in pink until 1940, though some pieces continued in crystal until 1949 (or at least that's the way I interpret the things I've found in my references and on the internet). The piece is about 5-1/2" tall to the top of the handle (2" at the sides), and it's a little under 7-1/4" in diameter.he bowl is about 5-3/4" in diameter (the base is about 3-7/8" across). There's a few scuffs and scratches in the bottom of the bowl (either on the inside but more likely on the underside, I can't really tell), but nothing you're really going to notice unless you're looking for them by holding the bottom part up to the light. There's no chips, nicks, fleabites or other damage - it's in nice shape. I've got way too much glassware in my life (and can't keep myself from buying more constantly - I've had this all of one day at this writing), and it needs a new home.
