    ~ Butterflies in the Garden
    *OOAK*
"Wow!  Amazing! Just look at that! Can I touch it?  Can I eat it?"
At play in the summer garden!  The inspiration for this was my own puppy, when upon seeing his first butterfly, was wide eyed and gave chase running and jumping in circles.  It was very charming.  My own garden has many Purple Cone Flowers that attract a lot of butterflies, so I decided to make some for this Corgi's entertainment.  She's been playing in the garden for a while and picked some special flowers and greenery to put behind her ear.  But now she's entirely captivated by the butterfly's movement when it lands in front of her!  I wanted to capture that moment of wonderment and fascination as she reaches out a paw to touch it.
    This piece measures:
for the Corgi - 3 1/2 inches tall; 3 3/4 inches long; 2 inches wide; for the flowers -  2 3/4 inches tall; 2 1/4 inches long; 1 1/4 inches deep.  The Corgi with the flowers is 5 +- inches long.
I created the piece with the flowers and butterfly as an independent sculpture.  You may, therefore, place it as you like.  The flower stems are made of unbreakable high-temp wire.
There were no molds used in the creation of this piece.
This is one of my original, one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork, sculpted, hand painted, and fired to over 2000 degrees.  It is then glazed using a food-safe glaze, and fired for a second time, achieving a glossy, waterproof finish.
Each piece is signed and dated by me, Susan Kimmel, assuring you of it's unique character.
