Description
*NEW* This is a paper pattern for "Bird of Paradise" by Arley Berryhill. It is not a finished item. You are NOT purchasing the birds pictured. This is a DIY (Do It Yourself) project. It is a pattern that will instruct you how to make your own "Bird of Paradise".Make this beautiful & versatile BIRD doll, which is part soft sculpture & part quilt. --So many opportunities for embellishment! -- Make a phoenix, peacock, or an original bird design of your own.
Measuring 12 inches from beak to tail, with an additional 18 inches of tail feathers, you have options to customize your bird design. You get patterns for two different wings- a set of "flying" wings (which are wired to hold its shape), and a "folded" set of wings. The birds' head is made separate, and can be posed any way you like. The bird can perch on a tall candlestick, or strung up on string to fly! Make it with glitzy fabric, or simple cotton.
Fusible quilt batting is used to make the wings & tail feathers.
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate to Advance (some basic knowledge of doll making, applique, & quilting is needed.)
**All patterns sold in my store are sold with the written permission and consent of the designer. Other 'Miscellaneous' patterns have been purchased new from reputable vendors for my personal use and I have instead chosen to sell a few.
